Vehicles in Germany's City Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Roughly 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.

Police say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.

The fluid had been drawn in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.

Police then located multiple other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police report early analysis show the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no indication as to its source; authorities are not yet cognizant of any harm in connection with the incident," they added.

Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the community for details.

An important representative stated the attack rendered him speechless and required to be resolved promptly.

"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on online, recalling the death of nine people by a gunman targeting residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
